An impressively consistent run of form in the past three months have launched Olympians Elsa Baquerizo McMillan and Liliana Fernandez Steiner into the upper reaches of the FIVB World Tour ranking.

The Spaniards won silver in the Long Beach Grand Slam just a week after bowing out of the Olympics at the last-16 stage in Rio.

Although they reached the quarterfinals of both the smart Major Hamburg and the A1 Major Klagenfurt, the team are still searching for their first gold medal together.

Fun fact! The pair are one of the most experienced teams having been partners in crime on the sand for the past nine seasons.
