Team: Bawden/Clancy

Nation: Australia

2015/16 FIVB World Tour ranking points: 2,230 – qualified as wildcards

2016 medals: 0

2015 Asian Champions Louise Bawden and Taliqua Clancy go into this year’s finale off the back of an excellent Olympics which saw them reach the quarterfinals before losing to eventual bronze medalists Ross/Walsh Jennings.

Successive ninth-place finishes at the Gstaad Major and the A1 Major Klagenfurt were the ideal preparation for their Rio adventure.

The Australians might have the furthest to travel than any other team but that hasn’t hindered their performances in the past – as shown by the fifth-place finish at last year’s World Championships.

Did you know? The Aussies travel more miles than any other team on the FIVB World Tour, with their base in Adelaide.
