2015/16 FIVB World Tour ranking points: 4,260 (Menegatti with Orsi Toth)

2016 medals: 2 (Menegatti with Orsi Toth, one silver, one bronze)

Two-time Olympian Marta Menegatti teams up with Laura Giombini as Italy’s sole women’s team in Toronto.

Following the suspension of Menegatti’s regular partner, Viktoria Orsi Toth, Marta and Laura reached the quarterfinals in Rio in the lead up to this season’s finale in Canada.

As a team Menegatti and Orsi Toth were regular semifinalists on the FIVB World Tour with fifth-place finishes at both the Poreč Major and Gstaad Major in the lead-up to the Olympics.

Laura, meanwhile, had previously partnered Texas-born Italian Rebecca Perry, where their best result came at the A1 Major Klagenfurt shortly before Rio.

Fun fact! Marta was given the title of the FIVB’s most improved player in 2011.
