It’s knockout time for the men at the Swatch World Tour Finals
The draw for the men’s knockout rounds at the Swatch World Tour Finals has been made and boy there are some tasty tussles in prospect at Polson Pier!
In the last 16 matches, which begin at 12 noon, Canadian fans will need to bring their vocal chords to Center Court for Binstock/Schachter’s game against the dangerous team from Poland Fijalek/Prudel. The winners of that game will face…Alison and Bruno!
The next match on Center Court again features more home favorites…can Saxton/Schalk use the confidence from their first win of the tournament on Friday against Dutch Olympic bronze medalists Brouwer/Meeuwsen? Whoever wins that clash faces Kantor/Losiak in the quarterfinals.
Americans Lucena/Dalhausser haven’t had it all their own way so far here on the banks of Lake Ontario and they will be in for a massive test when they take on the Matadors of Mazatlán, Ontiveros/Virgen. Should Nick and Phil triumph it would set up an all-American quarterfinal as the winners take on Hyden/Bourne.
Finally, Brazilians Pedro Solberg/Evandro meet the entertainers from Italy, Ranghieri/Carambula. The A1 Major Klagenfurt champs Samoilovs/Smedins lie in wait in the quarterfinals.
With the women’s semifinals and bronze medal match also taking place on Saturday, Polson Pier will be the place to be as the world’s elite go head-to-head for a place in Sunday’s finals!
